The branch labels on this AICPLIGHT breakout cable are clear enough that we did not mix up the ends during installation. Type B polarity matched our existing MPO cassettes, so we avoided a lot of repatching.

FAQ
Ask a QuestionFind answers to common questions about our products.
Which module combinations is this MPO-16 APC to 2×MPO-8 UPC cable typically used for?
It is commonly used for multimode breakout links such as QDD-400G-SR8 to two Q56-200G-SR4 modules, or QDD-200G-SR8 to two QSFP-100G-SR4 modules. The module interface and polish type must match both ends of the cable.
Can I reverse the cable and use the MPO-8 UPC side as the main side?
No. This cable is designed with a specific breakout direction and polish combination, so each end should connect to the matching module interface.
Can this cable be used in an all-APC or all-UPC link?
No. It is built for links where the main SR8 side requires APC and the two SR4 branch sides require UPC. For all-APC or all-UPC systems, choose a cable with the same polish type on the required ends.
Can Branch A and Branch B be connected in any order?
It is better to follow the branch labels and the switch breakout configuration. Swapping the branches may cause port mapping errors or make troubleshooting more difficult.
Questions & Answers Title
Ask a questionWe used these across several 40G spine-leaf pods, mainly to save space in high-density patching. They have been steady with our QSFP modules and cassettes, and we will likely use the same cable for the next expansion.
Overall build quality is good, and the APC and UPC ends are easy to tell apart during installation. My only wish is that the cable was coiled a bit looser in the bag, which would make unpacking faster.
