We ordered a few samples first and moved to bulk after testing them. The 3.0mm outer diameter routes nicely through cable trays and does not kink sharply when bent.

FAQ
Ask a QuestionFind answers to common questions about our products.
Why does this OM4 multimode cable use APC connectors?
Some high-speed multimode SR modules use MPO/APC interfaces to reduce back reflection in dense parallel links. Using the correct APC-polished cable helps maintain stable optical performance.
Can I use a UPC breakout cable with an APC-interface module?
No. APC and UPC connectors have different end-face geometries, and mixing them can cause higher loss, reflection, and unstable transmission.
Why choose OM4 instead of OM3 or OM5 for this breakout cable?
OM4 offers higher bandwidth than OM3 and is widely used for 400G/800G multimode SR applications. OM5 is only needed when the system design specifically requires wideband multimode fiber.
What should I check before installing this OFNP magenta cable?
Confirm the plenum rating, APC interface, branch mapping, and connector gender before installation. Keep the MPO end faces clean and avoid pulling on the breakout legs.
Questions & Answers Title
Ask a questionThese AICPLIGHT OM4 jumpers went into our edge computing racks, and the magenta jacket is easy to separate from the rest of the cabling. It saves our maintenance team time when tracing fiber paths.
The Female APC end faces looked clean, and the links came up normally after connecting to our modules. We have not had any looseness issues after a few reconnects.
