Can I use this cable to directly connect two SR4 transceivers?
Yes, if both transceivers use MPO/UPC multimode interfaces and the link requires Type B polarity. Also confirm that the module ports are compatible with female MPO connectors.
What should I check when using this cable with cassettes or patch panels?
Check the polarity of the trunk cable, adapters, cassettes, and patch cords together. A correct single cable can still fail if the full channel polarity is not planned properly.
Why are both ends female MPO connectors?
Female MPO connectors do not have guide pins and are commonly used to connect with pinned module interfaces. When joining cables through an adapter, the mating side should use the opposite gender.
Where is the OFNP plenum jacket typically used?
OFNP cable is used in indoor plenum-rated spaces, such as data centers, equipment rooms, ceiling pathways, and air-handling areas where higher fire safety ratings are required.
