Find answers to common questions about our products.

Can the two 400G breakout ends be plugged into QSFP112 adapters?

No. The breakout ends use OSFP Flat Top connectors, while QSFP112 has a different form factor and mechanical size. For this cable, the 400G device side must use compatible OSFP ports, such as OSFP-based NVIDIA ConnectX adapters.

Does this cable split one 800G OSFP port into two 400G links?

Yes. This AICPLIGHT breakout cable connects one 800G OSFP Finned Top port to two separate 400G OSFP Flat Top ports. The host port must support and be configured for the required 2×400G breakout mode.

Can I use only one of the two 400G breakout legs?

Yes. After the switch port is configured in split mode, each 400G leg is treated as an independent logical port. Leaving one breakout leg unused will not normally affect the operation of the other active leg.

The connectors feel well made and fit firmly in the ports. Routing was a bit tight in the rack, but still manageable.

Fair price and the packaging arrived in good shape. The cable is a little stiff, but it’s fine for short-distance connections.
