Yes. Each QSFP112 branch can connect to a separate 200G NIC or DPU port. They still share the same parent 800G switch port, so the switch must run the correct 4×200G breakout mode.
Yes. Once breakout is configured, each branch operates as an independent logical port. An unused branch will normally remain down or disabled and should not affect the connected branches.
Choose this cable when the switch side is 800G OSFP and the server side needs four 200G QSFP112 connections. If your server ports are 400G, OSFP-based, or require a longer optical reach, a different breakout cable or optical solution may be more appropriate.
We first considered DAC, but the distance was a bit awkward. This cable solved the issue directly and was much simpler than using modules.
This AICPLIGHT cable worked well for our high-bandwidth connection. Traffic testing looked clean, so we felt pretty confident using it.
We used it instead of a module-and-fiber setup, and installation was easier. So far, it gives us a good balance between performance and cost.
