Find answers to common questions about our products.

Do I have to use all four SFP28 branches at the same time?

Not necessarily. In most supported breakout configurations, unused branches can remain unplugged, while the connected branches continue to operate as separate 25G links.

Does the 100G QSFP28 port need breakout configuration?

Yes. The switch or host port should support 100G to 4×25G breakout and may need to be manually configured before the four SFP28 branches can link up correctly.

Is this breakout AOC suitable for short-reach 25G server access links?

Yes. It is suitable for short-distance data center links up to 50m, especially when a 100G switch port needs to connect directly to multiple 25G access-side devices without separate optics and patch cords.

Worked right out of the box between our 25G NICs and switch. No reprogramming was needed, and the link came up quickly after setting the port speed.

I was a little unsure about using a breakout cable at first, but it has been stable in production. Turning one 100G port into four 25G links made the setup much easier

The AICPLIGHT high-speed cable has solid signal quality, with no noticeable fluctuation so far. For our small server room, it helped improve both speed and reliability.
