Can this cable be used directly between two 10G SFP+ ports?
Yes. This AOC is designed to plug directly into standard 10G SFP+ data ports, so no separate optical transceivers or fiber patch cords are required.
Why does one end of the AOC work while the other end is not detected?
This is often caused by compatibility coding mismatch, port settings, or a device whitelist. If the two ends connect to different brands, each end should be coded for the corresponding host device.
Do I still need 10G SR transceivers if I use this AOC?
No. AOC integrates the optical components and fiber cable into one assembly, so it replaces the combination of two 10G optical modules plus a fiber jumper for short direct links.
Can this AOC be used in a mixed-vendor 10G network?
Yes, as long as both devices support 10G SFP+ AOC operation and the correct compatibility coding is applied. Mixed-vendor deployments should be checked by device model before purchase.
