Can the 100G QSFP56 branch ends be plugged into 100G QSFP28 ports?
No. Although QSFP56 and QSFP28 have a similar physical size, 100G QSFP56 uses PAM4 signaling while QSFP28 100G uses NRZ signaling, so they are not directly compatible.
Does the 200G port need to be configured for breakout mode?
Yes. The host device should support 2×100G breakout on the 200G QSFP56 port, and the port may need to be configured manually before the two 100G branches can link up.
What cable type and jacket options are available for this breakout AOC?
This type of AOC can be supplied with OM3 or OM4 fiber options, and jacket materials such as OFNR or LSZH can be selected based on the installation environment and site requirements.
Is this cable suitable for 200G ToR switches connecting to 100G server-side ports?
Yes. It is commonly used for short-distance data center links where a 200G QSFP56 ToR or switch port needs to connect to two 100G QSFP56 NIC or server ports, with supported lengths up to 100m.
