Find answers to common questions about our products.

Can this cable replace a 100G EDR or 200G QSFP56 AOC?

No. This is a 400G QSFP-DD to QSFP-DD AOC, and it must match both the port form factor and the supported speed of the host device. For 100G EDR or 200G QSFP56 links, a corresponding QSFP28 or QSFP56 cable should be selected.

Is this AOC suitable for 20m or 30m links inside a data center?

Yes, it is suitable for short-reach 400G connections between switches, routers, or servers in data center racks or rows. For longer runs, AICPLIGHT can help check whether an AOC or a 400G transceiver-and-fiber solution is more suitable.

Do I need to enable FEC when using this 400G QSFP-DD AOC?

In most 400G PAM4 deployments, FEC should be enabled to maintain stable link performance and reduce bit errors. The FEC mode should also be consistent on both connected ports.

How does AICPLIGHT verify this cable before shipment?

AICPLIGHT performs compatibility, signal integrity, and performance testing before shipment. For project orders, test reports or compatibility checks can be provided based on the target switch or network adapter model.

C***e Confirmed Purchase
5.0

We used it to replace an older cable, and the connection came up quickly. No packet loss or compatibility issues so far.

R***d Confirmed Purchase
4.0

Overall, it works well and the connectors feel solid. The packaging was simple but protective enough for data center use.

T***y Confirmed Purchase
4.0

Much lighter than copper cables, which made cabling easier. We used a few for short links, and they have been stable so far.
