Yes. This AICPLIGHT breakout DAC is designed to connect one 400G QSFP-DD port to two 200G QSFP56 ports, provided the switch supports 400G-to-2×200G breakout mode.
Not always. Some platforms may require specific vendor coding or may not support third-party breakout DACs, so AICPLIGHT recommends checking the device model and compatibility profile in advance.
No. QSFP56 200G uses 4×50G PAM4 signaling, while 100G QSFP28 typically uses 4×25G NRZ, so the two are not electrically compatible.
This 400G QSFP-DD to 2×200G QSFP56 passive DAC supports short-reach connections up to 3m. It is mainly suitable for rack-level or adjacent-rack interconnects.
We were a bit unsure about compatibility with our existing NICs, but the test went smoothly. The information from AICPLIGHT was clear and helpful.
Works great for short rack-to-rack connections. Low latency, low power, and much easier than the setup we used before.
