Find answers to common questions about our products.

Can both ends of the DAC be coded differently?

Yes. AICPLIGHT can provide different compatibility codes on each connector, such as Arista on one side and Cisco, Dell, Juniper, or other compatible brands on the other side.

Will this 40G QSFP+ DAC work with Arista QSFP+ switch ports?

Yes, it is suitable for Arista 40G QSFP+ ports when the cable is ordered with the correct Arista compatibility. We recommend confirming the switch model if the network uses strict vendor coding.

Can I plug this 40G QSFP+ DAC into a 100G QSFP28 port?

It is intended for 40G QSFP+ ports. Some QSFP28 ports may support 40G mode, but this depends on the device port capability and configuration.

Do I need separate optical transceivers to use this DAC cable?

No. This is a passive direct attach copper cable with QSFP+ connectors fixed on both ends, so no additional optical modules or fiber jumpers are required.
