Find answers to common questions about our products.

Where is this 800G OSFP to 2×400G QSFP112 breakout DAC typically used?

It is commonly used to connect one 800G OSFP switch port to two 400G QSFP112 ports on network adapters or DPUs. This helps split one 800G port into two 400G links for short-reach data center connections.

Is the 800G OSFP side Finned Top?

Yes. The 800G end uses an OSFP Finned Top form factor, while the two 400G branch ends are QSFP112. Please make sure the host ports match the form factors on both ends.

Can I use only one 400G branch and leave the other branch unplugged?

Yes. Once the switch port is configured for breakout mode, each 400G branch works as an independent logical port. Leaving one branch unused will not affect the working branch.

Should I choose this passive DAC or an ACC cable for longer links?

This passive DAC is recommended for short, low-power connections up to 3 meters. For 4m or 5m links, an ACC version with equalization may be more suitable.
