I see OSFP DAC cables with finned tops and flat tops. Which one should I choose?

This AICPLIGHT cable uses finned-top OSFP connectors on both ends and is typically used between OSFP switch ports. If your device requires flat-top OSFP, such as some DGX H100 or adapter-side ports, a flat-top version should be selected instead.

We currently use original NVIDIA cables. Will switching to AICPLIGHT cables cause compatibility issues?

AICPLIGHT compatible cables are designed to work in supported NVIDIA environments when the device model, port type, and cable length match. For large deployments, we recommend confirming the switch, NIC, and firmware environment in advance.

What is the difference between this passive DAC and an active copper cable?

A passive DAC has no active equalization chips and is best for very short 800G links with low latency and very low power consumption. If a longer copper reach is required, an active copper cable may be more suitable.

Why is cable length important for an 800G OSFP passive DAC?

At 800G, copper signal loss increases quickly as cable length becomes longer. Choosing the right length helps maintain stable link performance and avoid unnecessary signal integrity issues.
