What is this 200G-to-2×100G breakout DAC mainly used for?

It is used to split one 200G QSFP56 HDR port into two 100G QSFP56 HDR100 links. This is useful when a 200G HDR switch needs to connect to two 100G HDR100 QSFP56 ports.

Can I use this cable to connect a 200G HDR switch to a 100G EDR adapter?

Not directly. A 100G EDR adapter uses a different lane structure, so the HDR switch port must support and be configured for 100G EDR mode, and the cable or module should also be EDR-compatible.

Can this InfiniBand breakout DAC be used in Ethernet networks?

It is designed for InfiniBand HDR/HDR100 applications. Ethernet use depends on host port support and cable EEPROM coding, so please confirm the required Ethernet compatibility before ordering.
