200G HDR uses 4×50G PAM4 lanes, HDR100 uses 2×50G PAM4 lanes, while 100G EDR uses 4×25G NRZ lanes. Many HDR platforms can support lower-speed modes, but the actual link mode depends on the switch, NIC, firmware, and port configuration.
This cable is designed for 200G InfiniBand HDR links between QSFP56 ports, such as HDR switches and ConnectX-6 QSFP56 adapters. It is commonly used for switch-to-switch or switch-to-server connections in HPC and AI cluster environments.
The actual BER depends on the host system, FEC setting, and link environment. In typical HDR deployments, FEC-enabled links can achieve much lower post-FEC BER than links running without FEC, helping improve overall link stability.
We bought a few pieces for testing first, and the switches recognized them without any issue. Bandwidth and error rate have been stable so far, so we’ll likely order more.
Mainly using it for IB connections in our lab, and it has been running smoothly. The cable is lighter than expected and easy to route.
The AICPLIGHT cables arrived quickly and were packed well. The link came up right away after installation, with no compatibility problems.
