Find answers to common questions about our products.

Where is this 200G HDR DAC cable typically used?

It is commonly used for short-reach InfiniBand HDR connections, such as linking NVIDIA/Mellanox QM8700 or QM8790 switches, or connecting these switches to ConnectX-6 QSFP56 adapters. It is designed for high-density, low-latency links inside racks or between nearby racks.

Can I use this InfiniBand HDR DAC on Ethernet switches?

This cable is designed for InfiniBand HDR environments. Ethernet use depends on the switch/NIC port mode and EEPROM coding, so for Ethernet deployments, we recommend choosing or requesting an Ethernet-compatible version instead of assuming the IB-coded cable will be accepted.

What is the practical distance limit for this 200G HDR passive DAC?

For passive copper DAC, 200G HDR links are generally intended for very short distances, typically up to 3m. For longer runs, an InfiniBand HDR AOC is usually the better choice.

Good price and solid quality. We bought it to replace an older DAC, and the testing went smoothly.
