What is the practical difference between DAC, ACC, and AEC for this 800G breakout cable?

DAC is passive and best for the shortest links. ACC adds equalization, while AEC uses retimers to recover and regenerate the signal for stronger signal integrity.

Why use an AEC for a short copper link under 5m?

At 800G to 2×400G speeds, a short cable can still face signal loss and jitter. AEC provides stronger signal recovery than passive copper, without moving to an optical module solution.

Is the QSFP112 breakout side easier to route than OSFP branch ends?

In many high-density racks, QSFP112 branch ends are more compact than OSFP ends. This can make the 2×400G breakout side easier to manage when port spacing is tight.
