It is well suited for high-bandwidth InfiniBand NDR links in AI clusters, HPC systems, cloud data centers, and large-scale switch-to-switch or switch-to-adapter connections. It helps provide low-latency optical connectivity where copper cables are not ideal.
This cable uses an 8×100G PAM4 electrical interface to deliver 800G aggregate bandwidth. This lane structure is commonly used in 800G NDR high-speed interconnects.
AOC is usually preferred when the link needs better routing flexibility, lower weight, and longer reach than passive or active copper cables can comfortably support. It is a good choice for dense racks and high-performance fabric connections.
Choose the shortest length that can meet your routing path while leaving enough slack for safe installation and maintenance. For rack-to-rack or row-level links, AOC is often more practical than thick copper cabling.
This AICPLIGHT high-speed cable has been very stable so far. Latency and link status look normal, and we had no compatibility issues for short-reach connections.
The cable quality is good, and the connector fit is solid. Would be nice to see more length options later.
Setup was simple, basically plug and play. Signal looked stable during testing, good for in-rack connections.
