Yes. AICPLIGHT 400G QSFP-DD DR4 can support 400G-to-4x100G breakout when the switch port supports breakout mode. Use an MPO/MTP-12 APC to 4xLC single-mode breakout cable with compatible 100G DR modules.
Not directly. This DR4 module is designed for links up to 500m, so for longer 100G breakout links, a 400G XDR4-to-4x100G FR solution is usually more suitable.
Yes. QSFP-DD, OSFP, and QSFP112 are different host-side form factors, but if both ends use the same 400G DR4 optical standard, they can interconnect over single-mode MPO/MTP-12 APC fiber.
No. QSFP-DD modules must be used in QSFP-DD ports. A QSFP-DD port may accept lower-speed QSFP modules in some platforms, but QSFP-DD modules cannot be inserted into QSFP56 or QSFP28 ports.
On the host side, QSFP-DD typically uses 8x50G electrical lanes. Inside the module, the DSP gearbox converts these electrical lanes into 4x100G PAM4 optical lanes for DR4 transmission.
