Can I use two 400G QSFP-DD SR8 modules for a direct 400G link?

Yes. Use AICPLIGHT 400G QSFP-DD SR8 modules on both ends with an MPO/MTP-16 APC multimode patch cable to build a direct 400G short-reach link.

Can this module be split into two 200G links?

Yes. A 400G SR8 module can be connected to two 200G SR4 modules using an MPO/MTP-16 to 2×MPO/MTP-8 multimode breakout cable, provided the host ports support the breakout configuration.

Can I break out this 400G SR8 module into 8×50G connections?

Yes, it can be used for 8×50G PAM4 SR breakout with the correct MPO/MTP-16 to LC breakout cable and compatible 50G SR modules on the remote end.

Can I insert this QSFP-DD SR8 module into an OSFP port?

No. QSFP-DD and OSFP have different physical sizes and connector designs, so they are not directly interchangeable at the device port.

Which multimode fiber should I use for 70m or 100m links?

Use OM3 multimode fiber for links up to 70m and OM4 multimode fiber for links up to 100m. Make sure the MPO/MTP-16 APC connector polarity matches the link design.
