Yes. This module is designed with Cisco QSFP-100G-CWDM4-S compatible coding and can be used in Cisco platforms that support 100G QSFP28 CWDM4 optics, such as ASR and Nexus 9000 series switches. Please confirm the exact switch model and software support before deployment.
Yes. It can be used for short links as long as both ends use compatible 100G CWDM4 optics and a proper single-mode duplex LC cable. For very short patching, make sure the received optical power remains within the normal range.
No. 100G CWDM4 should be connected to another 100G CWDM4 module. SR4, PSM4, LR4, and CWDM4 use different optical designs, fibers, connectors, or wavelength schemes, so they are not directly interoperable.
Choose CWDM4 when you need a 100G single-mode duplex LC link up to 2km. SR4 is better suited for short multimode MPO links, while LR4 is usually selected for longer 10km single-mode links.
