Find answers to common questions about our products.

Can I use standard LC single-mode fiber with this AICPLIGHT 200G FR4 module?

Yes. This module uses a duplex LC/UPC interface and is designed for single-mode fiber links. Standard duplex LC single-mode patch cables can be used for typical 200GBASE-FR4 connections.

Can this 200G QSFP56 FR4 module work in a 4×25G NRZ breakout application?

No. This module is built for 200G operation with 4×50G PAM4 lanes and is not intended for 4×25G NRZ breakout links. For 4×25G applications, a suitable 100G breakout solution should be selected.

What modulation does this 200G FR4 module use?

It uses 4×50G PAM4 signaling to achieve 200G transmission. PAM4 carries more data per symbol than NRZ, which allows higher data rates over the same lane count.

How is QSFP56 different from QSFP28 in practical use?

QSFP28 is commonly used for 100G links based on 4×25G lanes, while QSFP56 supports 200G links based on 4×50G PAM4 lanes. Although the form factors look similar, the host port must support QSFP56/200G operation.

Setup was simple, pretty much plug and play. It has been running for a few days with no drops, and the temperature looks steady.
