FEC is controlled by the host device, not by the optical module alone. If your equipment requires FEC settings, make sure both ends of the link use consistent configuration.
This standard 40G LR4 module is mainly used in data center, enterprise, and telecom room environments. If the installation requires extended or industrial temperature operation, please select an industrial-temperature version.
Use single-mode Duplex LC/UPC fiber and make sure both ends are 40GBASE-LR4 modules. It is also important to check fiber cleanliness, link loss, and received optical power for stable long-distance operation.
Choose 40G LR4 when you need a single-mode Duplex LC link up to 10km. Choose 40G SR4 for short-reach multimode MPO links inside data centers.
