Where is this 400G SR4 OSFP Flat Top transceiver mainly used?

It is mainly used on NVIDIA ConnectX-7 OSFP adapter ports and can connect to 800G 2xSR4 OSFP modules on the switch side for 400G NDR links.

Can this OSFP module be inserted into a QSFP112 port?

No. OSFP and QSFP112 are different form factors with different physical dimensions and port structures, so they are not directly compatible.

Can it interconnect with an 800G Twin-Port 2xSR4 module?

Yes. Two 400G SR4 modules can connect to one 800G 2xSR4 twin-port module using MPO-12/APC OM4 multimode fiber patch cables.

Why does an SR4 multimode module use APC connectors?

100G PAM4 signals are more sensitive to reflections. APC end faces help reduce return reflection, improving link stability and BER performance.

What is the difference between OSFP SR4, QSFP112 SR4, and QSFP-DD SR4?

The main differences are form factor and electrical lane design. OSFP SR4 and QSFP112 SR4 usually use 4×100G PAM4, while QSFP-DD SR4 typically uses 8×50G PAM4. They are not physically interchangeable.
