Can one 200GbE port connect to two separate 100GbE devices?

Yes. A single 200GbE QSFP56 port can be split into two independent 100GbE links for servers, adapters, or downstream switches. All QSFP56 ports on this platform support this breakout mode without affecting adjacent ports.

Why might a port stay down after changing to 200GbE optics or a breakout cable?

The port configuration usually needs to be checked first. Onyx requires manual port-speed configuration, and interfaces changed to split-2 or split-4 mode must be configured as new logical ports.
