Find answers to common questions about our products.

Is the SN5400 intended only for 400G spine deployments?

No. The SN5400 is suitable for high-density leaf, spine, and super-spine roles. Its flexible 10G to 400G interface support allows customers to build a 400G fabric while continuing to connect servers, storage, and GPU clusters at lower speeds during a phased upgrade.

How can the SN5400 connect to 200G or 100G downstream devices?

The SN5400 supports port breakout configurations, providing up to 128×200GbE interfaces or up to 256×10/25/50/100GbE interfaces on the same platform.

Can I reuse existing QSFP56 or QSFP28 optics and cables?

The QSFP56-DD cages on the SN5400 are backward compatible with QSFP56 and QSFP28 interconnects, which can help protect existing infrastructure investments.

Is the SN5400 suitable for a RoCE-based AI Ethernet fabric?

Yes. With Cumulus Linux, the SN5400 can be deployed in RoCE environments that require QoS and congestion-management policies.
