Yes. This is a VPI adapter, so the port can be configured for either Ethernet or InfiniBand. It is a practical choice for deployments that may move from 200GbE to HDR InfiniBand in the future.
No. The port type should be configured through NVIDIA/Mellanox tools such as mlxconfig, and a restart may be required for the change to take effect. Please confirm the target mode before connecting it to your switch fabric.
QSFP28 modules or cables may be used on the QSFP56 port when the speed, firmware, and link mode are supported. For full 200G operation, use compatible QSFP56 HDR / 200GbE optics, DAC, or AOC.
