What type of adapter is the MCX755106AS-HEAT?

The MCX755106AS-HEAT is a ConnectX-7 VPI adapter card that supports both InfiniBand and Ethernet. NVIDIA lists it as a dual-port QSFP112 card with NDR200 200Gb/s InfiniBand and 200GbE Ethernet support.

Does dual-port 200G mean this card works as one 400G port?

No. The card provides two QSFP112 ports, each supporting up to 200Gb/s, so it can deliver up to 400Gb/s aggregate bandwidth depending on the workload and network design. It should not be described as a single 400G port adapter.

What is the PCIe extension option used for?

This model is Socket Direct ready and supports an optional additional PCIe x16 connection through a PCIe auxiliary card and Cabline harnesses. NVIDIA notes that the Socket-Direct ready card kit itself does not include the auxiliary PCIe card or the two Cabline SA-II Plus harnesses.

Can MCX755106AS-HEAT be split into 4×100G ports?

NVIDIA’s ConnectX-7 port-splitting documentation applies to MCX715105AS-WEAT only, not MCX755106AS-HEAT. Therefore, this dual-port 200G model should not be presented as a 4×100G port-split card unless NVIDIA validates that configuration for this OPN.
