The kit includes one PCIe x16 Gen5 auxiliary connection card, one 250mm MCIO cable, one short bracket, and one tall bracket shipped assembled on the auxiliary card. This makes it a complete PCIe auxiliary connection kit rather than only a cable assembly.
Which ConnectX-8 SuperNIC models should be paired with C8180X?
It should be used with ConnectX-8 SuperNICs that support the x16 PCIe Socket-Direct extension option, such as C8180 ST0 and C8240 ST0 deployments. The C8180 DT0 version is designed around a downstream port extension option, so it should not be treated the same as the ST0 Socket-Direct model.

Does C8180X upgrade a server from PCIe Gen5 to PCIe Gen6?
No. C8180X does not convert a PCIe Gen5 platform into PCIe Gen6. It provides an additional PCIe x16 Gen5 auxiliary connection through the MCIO harness, while the ConnectX-8 SuperNIC itself supports PCIe Gen6 and is Gen5 compatible.
